In the early 1990s, Mathilde Sener was one of Cours Florent’s most prestigious students. But at the time, the actress had a hard time taking the advice of her teachers, including Frances Hoster or Isabel Nante.
‘We always need to learn’. In Columns of Nous Deux, Mathilde Sener confides with an open heart about her need to serve. “I do meetings in which we learn every day. (…) Nothing is constant, we no longer have the same voice, the same face. (…) It’s like life, you learn from your mistakes“The actress confirms. If she was giving a very thoughtful speech today, that wouldn’t always be the case. In her youth, Mathilde Sener did not always like to be directed or even criticized by her peers. Like many actors and actresses, she studied acting at Cours Florent, prior to her film debut in 1994, alongside her sister Emmanuelle Seigner in Le Sourire. And at that time, she had teachers who were well known to viewers.
“Francis Hoster and Isabel Nante, whom I met when I started my career, told me things that inspired me, but I was by nature very rebellious, so I didn’t really like it.”, remembers Mathilde Sener in We Two Columns. Years later, the actress finally expressed her gratitude for what her elders had passed on to her. His teachers are at the prestigious Cours Florent but that’s not all. “Michel Galabro, who was my teacher, gave me simple and clear advice. Vincent Lyndon, Antoine Doolery or more recently Richard Berry have also guided me”Continued with our colleagues. Especially as Mathilde Sener assures us: “It is not in my nature to give advice, to be in a position of transmission”.
Frances Hoster: “The Florent Course has given me all the freedom to teach them to be themselves”
Like her, other famous actors were students of Isabel Nante and Frances Hoster. This is especially the case of Elsa Zilberstein, who, unlike Matilde Sener, has very good memories of the actor’s lessons. “We all loved him. I was both fascinated and terrified”I joked at Madame Figaro’s columns. A professor from the famous free class of the Chorus Florent, where he himself was a student, Francis Hoster also keeps fond memories of his time there. “What makes me most proud is that all these actors Vincent Lyndon, Isabel Nante, Isabel Carey, Christiana Reale, Isabel Adjani, Guillaume de Tonkidik … have learned to play in unison, The actor was captured in the columns of Dispatch. The Florent course gave me complete freedom to teach them to be themselves, instead of acting with reference to other actors.”
